Delhi, 20^th March 2026: Lexus India today launched the All-New ES500e in India, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s electrification journey with the introduction of Lexus’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) for the Indian market.

Announced at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, “Discover” lies at the core of Lexus’s brand ethos. The mission to discover better products, better services, and better experiences—and to help guests discover new value in their lifestyles.

Launched alongside the flagship LS in 1989, the ES has been a core model in Lexus, earning global acclaim for its quietness, ride comfort, and spacious interior. The model has been sold in more than 80 countries worldwide. Since the launch of the RX 400h in 2005, Lexus has led the way in electrification consistently pursuing both dynamic performance and environmental responsibility. With continued focus on HEVs, PHEVs and BEVs, Lexus is working towards realizing a carbon-neutral society while responding to the evolving diverse needs of guests and markets. Guided by Lexus’ multi-pathway approach All-New ES developed under the concept of Experience Elegance and Electrified Sedan, this model aspires to deliver a refined driving experience, further enhancing quietness and ride comfort while staying in tune with guests needs. In pursuit of carbon neutrality through a multi-path approach, both BEV and HEV are offered to meet a diverse range of mobility demands. Today, the ES BEV has been launched in India, and the ES HEV details will be announced at an appropriate time in the later part of the year.

2. Design Concept

The new ES introduces the Clean Tech x Elegance design concept to create new value. Its signature elegance has been further refined, blending functional and emotional values to achieve a simple, clean aesthetic. The exterior draws inspiration from Provocative Simplicity, the design theme of the next-generation BEV concept LF-ZC, expressing a bold presence through refined minimalism. Inside, the new ES embodies the Time is Luxury concept, inspired by Lexus’ Time in Design philosophy, which celebrates beauty that evolves over time. The interior is crafted to feel as inviting and relaxing as a living room, creating an immersive in-cabin experience.

Lexus presents a simple, clean interior with an open, airy upper section for superior visibility. Micro Geo features fine geometric patterns that convey a refined, modern feel. Lexus also introduces—for the first time—surface-illuminated door trim that synchronizes with the interior lighting. The Mark Levinson™ Surround Sound System completes the experience with optimized speaker placement and immersive 3D sound, harmonized with ambient lighting.

The new ES cockpit features a uniquely shaped 12.3-inch digital display, enabling smooth eye movement and creating an open, airy feel. The combination of suede materials and ambient lighting deepens the expression of Lexus’ cockpit. The interior color lineup includes two options Hazel and White reflecting advanced and premium impression.

Guided by the concept of “Pleasant Time for All Seats,” the ES is designed to provide a relaxing and refined experience for every occupant. Building on its strengths of quietness and ride comfort, the latest model introduces further improvements to enhance overall driving refinement.

The new ES is built on the TNGA GA-K platform, featuring a reinforced, highly rigid structure that helps reduce vibrations while improving steering response, acceleration, and overall driving dynamics.

The front suspension uses a MacPherson strut, while a multi-link rear suspension—introduced for the first time in the ES—enhances power delivery to the road and ensures smoother vehicle posture control.

DIRECT4 further improves traction and handling stability across various road conditions. By integrating front and rear eAxles with advanced AWD control, the system also enhances power efficiency while maintaining confident driving performance.

6. Cutting-edge Technology that brings Lexus new vision to life

The newly developed Responsive Hidden Switches are integrated into the steering wheel and instrument panel, delivering excellent functionality and usability while contributing to a clean, minimalist cabin environment.

7. Advanced Preventive Safety Technology Lexus Safety System +

The All-New ES 500e is equipped with the new generation of Lexus Safety System+, offering advanced driver-assistance technologies designed to support driver awareness and occupant protection. The safety features include the Pre-Collision System (PCS), Auto Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Adaptive High Beam System (AHS), and a Drive Monitoring Camera (DMC).

The Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) has been adopted to detect vehicles traveling alongside. The Panoramic View Monitor now features a newly developed 3D View to support driver awareness of the surrounding area.

8. Seamless Comfort and Convenience

The All-New ES500e is equipped with a comprehensive suite of connected features designed to offer control, convenience, and peace of mind with enhanced overall ownership experience. Guests can remotely monitor battery status, review driving range, schedule charging sessions and access charging history through the Lexus India App.

The connected system allows customers to schedule and remotely activates cabin climate functions including air-conditioning, seat heating and seat ventilation so the vehicle is comfortable and ready before every drive. Smartphone and smartwatch integration further ensures seamless access to key functions. Live Car Tracking and the integrated Emergency Call feature provide added reassurance and safety support when required.

The vehicles come with Auto and Easy door closure for all four doors and power truck lid.

Lexus India offers a bouquet of charging options along with enhanced roadside assistance. The vehicle is compatible with both AC and DC fast charging, providing convenient charging solutions tailored for both urban commutes and long journeys. The vehicle comes with a 2.8 kW portable charger and an 11-kW home charger. It also includes a 5-year Roadside Assistance (RSA) package that covers towing, taxi service and repatriation, onsite mobile charging, and towing to the nearest dealership or charging station. In addition, the All-New ES500e offers enhanced ownership experience through an 8-year/200,000 km vehicle and battery warranty**, being the first of its kind in the Indian luxury car industry ensuring complete peace of mind.
